Abstract
This study aims to investigate thermal environment at porous-type residence in hot and humid Asia, Hanoi. In this study, the target is a residence in Hanoi. It is called "porous type", passive approach by porosity and active approach with using cooling system are experimented. By hearing and measurement , it finds out that this system is comfortable. However, in midsummer, it is more uncomfortable at the upper region than at the under region because of strong solar radiation. In investigation of active approach, radiation cooling panels are more effective than room air conditioner at a room in this residence.
