Abstract
In the previous studies, evaporative cooling effect of perspiration roof with the use of thermo-sensitive hydrogel was examined experimentally. The perspiration roof is a roof in which water can be absorbed or desorbed, depending on its temperature, that is, water absorption in case its temperature below a certain sense temperature (set temperature), and water desorption above the sense temperature. This paper describes the examination results of optimum sense temperature of the perspiration roof; using detached house as a simulation model, and of its evaporative cooling effect in terms of heat gain decrease, as compared to the non perspiration roof.
