Abstract
We forecasted that the amount of CO_2 emissions relating to the operation of business buildings in Japan for four different scenarios. The four scenarios were that: (1) no measures were taken, (2) took measures aimed for the Kyoto Protocol, (3) the assumption that energy conservation of equipment was accelerated, and (4) the assumption that energy saving was canceled by lifestyle changes, etc. Simulation found that it was so hard to achieve the Kyoto Protocol without any innovative development of HVAC system in a few years. It was also necessary that users had to make an effort not to go backward against energy conservation.
