Abstract
In this research, with the validated calculation models, energy consumption is evaluated when STPV panels are set up in an atrium of an underground shopping center, considering PV power generation, HVAC energy, daylighting and the reduced lighting energy consumption. It is found that energy saving of about 45% is achieved as compared to cases without an atrium and that about 15% of energy consumption can be covered by power generation from the poly-crystalline silicon single glass. It is also shown that energy saving is the highest when the transmittance of amorphous silicon single glass PV is about 40%.
