Abstract
This study is aimed to verify the utility of DHC as an urban energy system in the future. Firstly, we identified factors which affect energy efficiency by analysis on an actual high-efficiency DHC, and then evaluated the energy saving potential by the simulation model developed on the actual condition. In consequence, it became apparent that introduction of CGS and optimal operation of it, adoption of high-efficiency equipment and an invitation of preferable customer are essential elements to realize a high-efficiency system for a system using absorption chillers and boilers. With these elements, the value of DHC as an urban energy system will be growing higher.
