It was clear from the result that an application of hydraulic test was tough to build down the pressure under remaining air in the piping and it was also difficult to detect water leakage. It is very important for making a remarkably accurate test conclusion by an application of hydraulic test to purge air from the pipe as much as possible. Air pressure test, hydraulic test and air pressure-type test equipment were performed to make a comparative study of micro leakage detection.

Using geographic information system (GIS), the Kawagoe region in Japan was examined in the case in respect of the possibility of the rain water utilization in the region. Using the minute numerical information that land use of the every 10 meter mesh was recorded in 15 classification, rate of outflow, infiltration and reservation of rain water in every land use were calculated on the basis of building coverage ratio and literature data of discharge coefficient in two cases in the case in which the rain water tank is not founded and case in which it is installed. In addition, by dividing the Kawagoe region into 238 meshes in the 1km four every quarters, from totaling of each mesh of the land use point number, rate of outflow, infiltration and reservation of the every mesh were calculated. In the Kawagoe region, by the introduction of the rain water tank, the result showed that runoff control and utilization of the rain water for 48.7 million cubic meter/year (35.6% of outflow rate and 15.3% of all precipitation) were possible. Still, in this study, all rain water which fell in the roof was able to be stored, and again, all stored rain water was able to be utilized, they were calculated. In the future, it is necessary to carry out the detailed examination considering a size of the rain water tank and application of the rain water utilization, a balance of rain water infiltration and rain water utilization.

Outdoor heat exchangers for air-cooled air-conditioners are exposed to the elements and thus tend to deteriorate very quickly. Because this equipment has such an enormous impact on the operating efficiency of air conditioners, it is essential to have a precise grasp of the extent heat exchangers have deteriorated in order to develop a standardized equipment upgrade and maintenance work schedule. Up to now we have had to rely on simple trial and error, but here we propose a new method for quantitatively diagnosing heat exchanger deterioration, assess the viability of developing the new method, and highlight the key issues that have to be addressed in developing the method.

The following results were obtained; 1) By means of simulation, characteristics of a room have a big influence on quantities of solar radiation and loss heat. 2) In case of day with many quantities of insolation, room air temperature rises until the early afternoon. But, in case of the day with few quantities of insolation and the day that obstructed insolation, room air temperature becomes the highest temperature in morning.

In recent years, the various windows have been proposed and developed in order to realize both solar shading and ilization of daylight. However, the method which verifies those thermal performances is not established. This report shows the simplified method for measuring solar shading performance with the Peltier device box. Although there was room of an improvement, it was shown that the Peltier device box could measure almost the solar heat gain coefficient of a window system with high solar shading performance.

A low storey building adopted Double-skin facade which reduce the energy consumption as an environmentally sustainable building. Double-skin facade advantages are rendering the occupant unconscious of the building's confinement and maximum utilization of natural lighting. Under Japanese climate, the double-skin glass is required to satisfy various ctions such as the discharge of heated air between the glasses in the summer, the thermal insulation in the winter and the natural ventilation in spring and autumn. In this study, we report the thermal performance of Double-skin glass by the field measurement.

Double-skin or Airflow facades are often adopted as a thermal engineering technique as well as an aesthetic design technique. There are indoor air and outdoor air as supply sources of the ventilation air. The natural ventilation method with tdoor-air and the cascade use method with indoor exhaust-air are reasonable methods that don't need additional fans. In order to prepare useful datasets for design of double-skin facades, the thermal performance of both methods was evaluated with use of the steady macro-model.

"Great Cooling Tower" which is over 150% larger than a standard was newly developed. This feature can lower circulating cooling water temperature, so that COP (coefficient of performance) of a turbo refrigerator can be improved well. Fan power in the Great Cooling Tower is designed to be as nearly as a standard-type level. Furthermore, to reduce transportation power, more than 5 degrees Celsius of temperature difference of cooling water was set deliberately. This report shows that, in order to maximize the system COP of the Great Cooling Tower system, the most suitable cooling water temperature was examined properly.

In this report, the effect when set temperature difference of cooling water over 5 degrees Celsius and the economic performance of the Great Cooling Tower system were examined. In comparison with a standard-type cooling tower system, power cost of a turbo refrigerator on the Great Cooling Tower system had gone down, but increasing cost of a Great Cooling Tower had made the total construction cost to be risen finally. However, as a result, it is clear that the economic performance of Great Cooling Tower appeared especially with an inverter turbo refrigerator.

The water spraying device set up in air-conditioning outdoor machine decreases the condensing pressure of the compressor by the effect of the evaporation cooling of the water. As a result, it induces some effects - the high-pressure cutting prevention, the improvement in efficiency, and the energy conservation at the peak cooling load. In this article, by the measurement in the operating state, the effect of energy conservation of the air source heat pump chiller by water spraying is verified. Moreover, the influence that difference of method and water volume give to efficiency of water spraying is verified.
