Abstract
Investigations about the present conditions of maintenance of sanitary environment, such as an air conditioning system, plumbing system in 9 hospitals were conducted. The main results are shown as follows. (1) On the whole about maintenance of an air conditioning system, check of a cooling tower, humidification equipment, and an air-conditioner drainage receptacle and cleaning of a cooling tower, a cooling-water pipe, and humidification equipment are performed appropriately. On the other hand, measurement of indoor air environment was not conducted. (2) The maintenance situation of a water supply system was good compared with other equipment. (3) Since there is not any regulation of sanitary environment in medical facilities, maintenance of hot water supply systems, non-potable water supply equipment, drainage system, cleaning, and a rat noxious insect, were not performed appropriately.
