Abstract
In order to optimize the energy consumption for architectural sector, many energy conservation means have been proposed and there is possibility that they will achieve a significant effect on energy consumption. On the other hand, these measures are used improperly although they were very simple because the true essential meanings are not fully examined. From this point of view, the validity of setting the thermostat higher or lower to help save energy by "Cool/Warm Biz" was discussed in this paper. Also the performance for reducing heating (by adding mass and thermal resistance value) and cooling (by evaporative cooling) loads on a building by the green roof was examined.
