Abstract
This paper presents the effect of control of blinds on thermal and light environment in office buildings. In order to realize both solar shading and utilization of daylight, automated blinds control is installed in various high-performance window systems , but effect of control of blinds on window performance has not been evaluated. The performance fluctuation of automated blinds systems is studied in actual buildings. A detailed optical simulation of window with automated blinds is developed and verified. By numerical simulation, the effect of control of blinds and color of slats on thermal and light environment in office buildings are studied.
