Abstract

In this research, the effects of the peak shaving control of air conditioning systems using the PCM (Phase Change Material) for ceiling board in the office building were examined. The thermal capacity and thermal conductivity of the PCM ceiling board was measured by using small experimental chamber. The thermal capacity of the PCM ceiling board is approximately 300 kJ/m^2. It is 3 times that of ordinary rock wool ceiling board. The thermal conductivity is from 0.034 to 0.058 W/mK depend on kinds of clumpy of microcapsulate PCM.
