Abstract
Outdoor thermal environment have been seriously aggravated by urban heat island effects in recent years. Such environmental deterioration has become even more significant, especially in Asian developing countries with rapid urbanization. To provide effective solutions for unreasonable urban development, the study focuses on control indices necessary in urban planning process which can greatly affect outdoor thermal comfort. This paper clarifies effect of building height on outdoor thermal comfort, and then makes a prediction about optimized building height in built environment in high density Asian cities under humid subtropical climate.
