Abstract
The workshop to establish maintain and regeneration of traditional residence is held in Architectural Department, School of science & Technology, Meiji University. In the workshop, maintain and regeneration is studied by the each field of architecture. The present study proposes the technique applied to renovation to maintain the feature and the worth of traditional residence and to be able to live comfortably by minimum environmental control energy as environmental engineering approach. The object house is traditional residence, machiya, in Takahashi City, Okayama. We measured indoor thermal environment, and studied the repair technique of veranda.
