The development of the world copper mining industry is most remarkable during past 50 years. 226, 000 vs. 1, 933, 000 tons in the annual copper production, as well as 6% vs. 2% Cu in the are tenor in both extrimities all show its rapid progress which chiefly dues to the wonderful improvement of the metallurgy. It is reviewed here briefly at large on the metallurgical process as its thema, reminding the former infancy, comparing it to the present epoch making advancement.
