Abstract
Starting from the historical study of Gold in its first relation with the human being, I pronounced my opinion that in ancient times Gold was possessed only by people belonging to the governing class who made use of it as symbol of their dignity and it was not circulated at that time.
Then I explained that it was the keen desire for Gold that brought about the discovery of the New World, and after a great deal of Gold had been accumulated, it began to fill the role of currency and commodity.
Lastly, I expounded on the present situation of supply and demand for Gold, especially the latest condition in Japan.
