The Super-Duralumin bar, made by extrusion has sometimes an unsymmetrical figure at a section.This is caused by the fiow in the container-that is the fluid metallic parts in the container run in to each bar when extruding two or more bars from one dies. Therefore there arises difference of grain size (according to the degree of the flow), The figure does not appear at the single extrusion.
This cannot be refined in the case of extrusion. Further there are differences in the mechanical properties between the figured part and the part not figured-the latter has higher values than the former-but no obstacles in its use.
According to the X-ray photograph some copper segregation is found in the core of the bar.
