抄録

The writer prepared the slags with the compositions of the binary system FeO-Si02 and the ternary system FeO-CaO-Si02, and determined their viscosity by the torsion method while molten at temperatures lying below 1200°C, and obtained following results.
The minimum viscosity i. e. about 2 poise at 1160°C was found for the slag with the approximate composition of FeO 50%, CaO 20% and Si02 30%. The viscosity increases gradually if we increases the percentage of silica above the figure, but it increases rapidly if we decrease the content of silica. And CaO is remarkably efficacious for lowering of the viscosity when it is contained about 20%.
