抄録

We examined on several physical properties of coal measures rocks such as sandstone, sandyshal e and shale, and studied on relations between these properties and rate of penetration which showed at rotary drilling under lower thrust.
On less abrasive rock, rate of penetration almost decreased in inverse ratio to indentation hardness, but on abrasive rock, there was no definite relation between them. In many of rocks examined, rate of abrasion increased in proportion to grain size of rock.
Shore hardness, toughness and compressive strength had no definite relations with the rate of penetration.
