For the purpose of obtaining process engineering data of reduction of magnetite and roasted magnetite with hydrogen, the rate controlling steps of the reaction as well as the time required for the completion of the reaction were determined with a thermobalance and a fluidized bed reactor. The rate constant of reduction at interface was calculated. In order to reduce magnetite particles with hydrogen as short a time as possible, the good process was concluded to be the combination of fludized oxidative roasting and fludizing reduction.
