The method how to estimate the ground movement due to mining coal seams has been studied by many investigators in Europe, and several methods have been offered for it. However, it is impossible to pay due regard, in these methods, to the nature of the ground concerned.
The authors have studied the same problem aiming at such a method that, in the first place, allows to take into consideration the nature, of the ground, and, in the second place, allows to use an electronical digital computer over the whole course of the calculation so as to obtain the results rapidly. The present paper describes the details of the method obtained.
