Direct Patterning of Inorganic Thin Films Using Functionalized Templates Fabricated from Mixed LB Films

Abstract

Direct synthesis of the patterned inorganic thin films was studied by using functionalized templates fabricated from mixed phase-separated Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films. We have reviewed the direct synthesis of the inorganic thin films with the patterns of disk domains and nano wires through two methods. The one is “direct sol-gel synthesis of zirconia thin films”, and the other is “synthesis of silica particulate films using self-assembly of silica particles”. The driving force of self-assembly of silica particles on the functionalized templates was also investigated.
