The components of alkyd resin are substituted by aliphatic acid and benzoic acid, and pentaerythritol by glycerol. The authors reviewed the viscoelastic effect of these materials upon amino-alkyd resin paint film. As the contents of benzoic acid became large, transition point shifted to high temperature side. The maximum of logarithmic decrement revealed an inverse relation to the acid value.
In a system whose pentaerythriol is substituted by glycerol, secondary transition temperature and maximum of logarithmic decremenet were shifted to the lower temperature side as the quantity of glycerol became large.
Modulus of rigidity was recognized to become lower at the high temperature elastic part when pentaerythritol is replaced by glycerol.
