Titanium chelates with the hydroxy derivatives of N-benzylidene aniline were synthesized and their properties were investigated. Titanium chelates were obtained by the one-pot reaction of titanium alkoxide with aromatic amines and aldehyde or keton.

The color of these chelates was orange andchelates, having a methyl or ethyl group as substituent R and hydrogen atom or 5-methyl group as substituent X,were highly soluble in polar organic solvent. The chelates with R as methyl or ethyl group, decomposed at 230-310°C.These decomposition points were lower than in the case of the titanium chelate having hydrogen atom as substituents X and R.
