This paper is concerned with quadratic stability and stability with disturbance attenuation of a class of uncertain jump systems. The class of systems under consideration is jump systems with norm-bounded parameter uncertainties. Jump systems represent a wide class of systems, including not only continuous-time, discrete-time systems, but also sampled-data systems. Our main results are relationships between robust H∞ control via linear output feedback and a scaled H∞ control problem and between quadratic stabilization and a standard H∞ control problem for jump systems. These implies that a quadratic stabilizing controller for uncertain jump systems can be designed by solving a standard H∞ controller for jump systems. Furthermore, the jump system theory is applied to uncertain sample-data systems.
