The flapper-nozzle system is contained in a pneumatic controller, pneumatic converter, pneumatic gauge, etc. as deviation detecting system or deviation-pressure converting system. There have been a few literatures on the static and dynamic characteristics of the flappernozzle system, and it is difficult to determine the gain constant and equivalent time constant of this system.
An excellent flapper-nozzle system is one which shows good linearity and high gain in static characteristics, and small time constant as to its dynamic characteristics.
This paper presents the results of the experimental investigation conducted on different dimensions of fixed restrictor and nozzle used for pneumatic controller and converter. Dimensions of fixed restrictor and nozzle are given, the static characteristics of this system can be estimated from these results.
