AC servo systems, such as automatic balancing type instruments provided with ac amplifiers and two-phase motors, are commonly in use in the automatic control fields.
However, the theory of transfer function of ac servo systems has not entirely been investigated yet, and much inconvenience is felt in analyzing the control system behaviors and designing ac compensating networks.
Several authors described the transfer function in the form of frequency response, which is, however, less feasible to treat.
In the present paper the transfer function of ac servo systems is derived by calculating the transient output response caused by arbitrary input signal and then taking its Laplace transform.In the course of calculation special expansion method is applied.
It should be noticed that, as the frequency response is the result of taking Fourier transform instead of taking Laplace transform, it is quite natural that the transfer function thus derived falls into coincidence with the frequency response when s is replaced by jω.
As examples, calculations of ac transfer functions of bridged T-and parallel T circuit are worked out.
