The purpose of this paper is to obtain some sufficient conditions for the existence of suboptimal controls in the singularly perturbed linear regulator problems with multiple time scales. The modal approach is formulated and then the general form with several small parameters is discussed. The sufficient conditions derived here are controllability and observability conditions of the reduced and boundary layer systems.
