Punctuated Equilibria in the Iterated Prisoner's Dilemma

Abstract

In the evolution of strategies in the iterated Prisoner's Dilemma, the abrupt decrease of species and the following return to the stationary value have been observed. This phenomena called punctuated equilibrium always accompanies the collapse of the cooperative relationship.
