Abstract
Our cases of measurement and the latest knowledge regarding the measurement methods and the contamination control methods of indoor microorganisms are provided in this commentary, including the topic of SARS-CoV-2 that has developed into a global pandemic as of June 2020, as the final article in the series. About methods of measuring indoor microorganisms, several approaches are explained, for airborne microorganisms by culture methods, for attached microorganisms, and for the analysis methods of fungus in the house dust. In addition, the molecular biology techniques showing remarkable progress in recent years are introduced, which make the rapid measurement without culture and the comprehensive analysis of microorganism possible. Furthermore, as countermeasures against indoor microbial contamination, specific methods to reduce airborne microorganisms and the characteristics of typical microbicide used in ordinary household are described.
