Abstract
A 62-year-old woman came to our hospital for evaluation of a 3.5×2.5cm mass in her right axillary region. The lesion with a 5-year history had increased in size. A biopsy of the lesion revealed sweat gland carcinoma.
Immunohistochemical studies showed positivity for a tumor of S-100, CEA, CK7, EMA, GCDFP-15 and HMFG.
Based on these findings and the histopathological observation of the decapitation secretion, we diagnosed the patient as having apocrine adenocarcinoma. After surgery, a combination of chemotherapy with low-dose cisplatin and fluorouracil, and radiotherapy was administered to the patient. [Skin Cancer (Japan) 2006; 21: 137-140]
