Abstract
We describe two cases of scalp angiosarcoma treated with Docetaxel infusions at 25 mg/m2 /day/week for three successive weeks followed by a one-week intermission, the so-called “weekly Taxotere® therapy”. One patient was a 70-year-old male with metastasis to the liver, and the other patient was an 81-year-old male with no metastasis. In both cases, all the original erythematous lesions on the scalp had disappeared and the period of remission continued for about 2.5 months. Although the angiosarcoma did eventually recur locally and metastasize, the clinical efficacy of docetaxel therapy was obvious, suggesting that weekly Taxotere® therapy may be an option for the treatment of scalp angiosarcoma.
