Abstract
A 38-year-old man, who had got burn on his both soles with a foot warmer at the age of 1, presented with ten-month history of incurable erosion on the burn scar. Examination revealed two neighboring erosive plaques with granular-surfaced nodules on the left heel and lateral surface of the left foot. These plaques and nodules were associated with scar. Clinical diagnosis of SCC on the burn scar was made, and biopsies were taken from erosion and nodule. Histopathology of the specimen from erosion showed findings of carcinoma in situ at periphery and tumor nests infiltrating into the dermis on the center, whereas that from nodule revealed infiltrative tumor nests with cancer pearls. After pathological diagnosis of SCC was established, wide-local excision including burn scar and split-thickness skin graft were performed. No recurrence was observed during three years after operation.
