A 41-year-old women suffered from the leg ulcer, livedo reticularis with summer ulceration, which was worse in summer. We have attempted to cool the local point by an ice bag as the therapy for summer ulceration. One week after cooling, the leg ulcer started getting small and closed in two months with no untoward reaction. Cooling on the local point would be one of most useful treatments for the ulcer difficult to cure in this disease. We heated the patient serum up and got the precipitation containing 70-80kDa protein. The etiology of livedo reticularis with summer ulceration isn’t clarified. We guess the existence of a certain unknown substance that shows tendency of coagulation by heating up.
