Abstract
A statistical study of Herpes zoster in Department of Dermatology, Kansai Medical University from 1979 to 1981 was made. Totally, 184 cases were treated. The incidence to all outpatients was about 1.14%. It affected females slightly more frequently. 40% of the patients were from 50 to 69 years of age. The prevalent month was August. The most frequently involved was thoracic area. There were 9 cases in which vesiculobullus eruptions were observed in the whole body. 32 cases had some complications such as malignant neoplasm and diabetesmellitus. Compliment fixing antibody titers began to rise 9 days after the appearance of exanthema, and to decrease 16 days after.
