Abstract

Microbial flora and candidial flora in the lesonsof eczematous dermatitis before and after topicalapplication of corticosteroids were investigated. After topical application of Topsym cream, Staphylococcus aureus decreased in number fromthe lesions of eczematous dermatitis. The decreasingtendency of Staphylococcus aureus wasobserved in both oozing and dry lesions ofeczematous dermatitis. This result was same asin topical application of betamethasone valeratewith gentamicin. Clinical effects of Topsymcream were excellent. From the results obtained, it was consideredthat Topsym cream is applicable on both oozingand dry lesions of eczematous dermatitis inwhich Staphylococcus aureus is cultured.
