In this paper, we propose a 3D Model named Context Cube for Contents Indexing (CCCI). The CCCI model is obtained by introducing the research results of a specific sociological study into the subject of our experimental study. It helps to extract semantics from various disciplines contents which some terms are used for different meanings and different terms are used for the same meanings. The semantics are generated by connecting various contents using a network search function. We developed an Enterprise Contents Management System for an academic domain, in order to validate our model. The main feature of this system is its function for focusing searches in Web documents. Users? semantic contexts are used for realizing this function. Human names and locations appearing in the documents are utilized for the search context. To realize this function, we designed our 3D model to be used for abstraction operation to metadata in contents sharing among several disciplines. By performing this experiment, we confirmed that extracting context is one of the most important research issues to be further developed to promote knowledge circulation through digital contents.
