Abstract
The Institute of Ars Vivendi at Ritsumeikan University has been conducting archival activities for many years and has accumulated a considerable amount of interview records and paper archival materials in particular. Last summer, the Institute received important archival materials again, but the space for storing them is running out. On the other hand, due to the nature of the archival materials, which were printed before the digitalization of information, they are not easy to organize and refer to. As a result, the archival materials are often left in a state where only a few people involved in the donation have some knowledge of their contents, and as a result, the nature of the archival materials, who donated them, and how and why they were donated are eventually forgotten. In this article, we will introduce “Ika Geijutsu” (Art of the Physician), one of the archival materials donated by Hiroyasu Amase (Susumu Watanabe), while touching on Mr. Amase's personal history, and examine the past and future potential uses of this journal for research purposes.
