Abstract
A complex processing machine is a kind of machine tool by which turing, milling and grinding can be performed only by changing units of the machine.So it may be possible to construct a manufacturing system provided with a higher flexibility.The purpose of this research is to develope a support software to design a manufacturing system where complex processing machines are introduced.The main findings of the reserch are as follows. 1)The performances of model manufacturing systems were simulated by using SIMAN software , and it was clarified that the availability of complex processing machine was affected by ratio of parts mix, the number of complex proceeing machine and variety of parts to be machined. 2)A design support software was developed based on simulation data, and it was confirmed that it was possible to select the combination of hardwares of a manufacturing system.
