Abstract

It is very important to carry risk management well, because every project has risks by nature. The PMBOK(a Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge)describes a chapter of risk management. But this chapter shows only an outline, because the PMBOK treats many kind of projects. In this reason, it is very difficult to adopt this chapter to software development project as it is. On the other hand, some literatures discuss risk management on software development project. But, they are not based on the system of the PMBOK, because these origins are different. In this study, we summarize these risk management systems from the viewpoint of PDCA cycle and discuss how should be in software development project. As a result, we extract some additional points that are not described in PMBOK. And we find the following issues:the necessity of develop a new method which can identify risks without remains;the differences in processes of risk quantification and risk response control between planning phase and development phase;the necessity to incorporate the risk management processes into other development processes;and the necessity to reduce workload.
