Compaction Process of Pharmaceutical Tablets

Abstract
Tablets are the most commonly used pharmaceutical dosage form and they are manufactured by compacting powders containing pharmaceutical active compound with a tableting machine. Compaction process of pharmaceutical powders consists of filling process of powders into a die, compressing process of filled powders in a die by upper and lower punches and ejection process of a compacted tablet from a die. The technical subjects on each process, such as mass and content uniformity, capping and sticking, are reviewed.
