Titanium nitride nanostructures can absorb broad spectra which basically match solar spectrum. In the first half of this article, a TiN-based nanostructure which can achieve 92% solar evaporation efficiency is introduced. The second half of this article discusses the actual solar water evaporation performance of the TiN-based nanostructure placed outdoor. The results show that if the sample covers an area of 3.6 m2, and solar irradiance at 1000 W/m2 continues for an hour, 2.5 liter of distilled water can be produced which is the sufficient amount for an adult needed for a day.
