Study of Dispersion of Submicron Powder with Spiral Jet Mill

Abstract

This study focused on the dispersion method to obtain large quantities of fine and uniform particles in classifying submicron powder. In classifying powders that were difficult to disperse, by coupling spiral jet mill to classifier, the collection ratio of fine particle could be significantly improved compared to using classifier only. In addition, it was suggested that submicron powders would re-agglomerates if collected with bag filter without classification immediately after dispersion by spiral jet mill. Therefore, the dispersion and classification were more desirable when processed continuously.
