The Solid-Solid Reaction Theory Compared with Previous Experiments

Abstract

The proposed theory regarding the reaction between solid particles in random packing is confirmed by five kinds of experimental data reported previously. The theory is further developed on a molar basis so that it can be compared in terms of the rate of reaction.
Although somewhat qualitative, the apparent rates of reaction for five systems agree fairly well with those of experimental data varied in particle size ratio, diffusivity ratio and volume fraction.
