Abstract
Given a solid-solid reaction system controlled by diffusion, the two variables, i. e., particle size ratio Rr and volume fraction XVA should be specified for the efficient design purposes.
Based on the reaction model proposed previously, an equation, Eq. (15), correlating the system variables, Rr and XVA in addition to RD, the diffusivity ratio, can be derived for the optimum design condition by equating the times needed for reaching the transition points in both A and B particles. A nomogram is proposed to readily determine the two variables in question.
