Abstract
This paper deals with continuous separation of fly-ash due to segregation in a gas fluidized bed with tapping for the purpose of removing unburned carbon from fly-ash. The flow of fly-ash in the fluidized bed is expressed by a diffusion model. The unburned carbon content of recovered fly-ash is predicted by taking account of this flow characteristic, and the kinetics of segregation is approximated with the rate equation of the first order chemical reaction.
