Empirical Study on the Market Value of Open Source Software and the Productivity of the Information Service Industy in Japan

Abstract

This paper paper analyzes contribution of OSS to productivity in the information service industry in Japan. In prior to this analysis, we calculate the market value of OSS. As a result this caluculation reveals that each OSS has each market value. Moreover, this paper shows empirical result that OSS gives positive economic effect to the information service industry in japan in general.
