Inhabitant's reaction on Earthquake Early Warning after “The 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake”

Abstract

While the Earthquake Early Warning has become highly recognized as it was issued many times after the “2011 Off the Pacific Coast of Tohoku Earthquake”, it also has become controversial as inappropriate warnings were issued one after another wherein the actual seismic intensity registered was smaller than what was predicted. Some people are critical about it all right, but there are many who consider it unavoidable. Likewise, many people regard the Earthquake Early Warning as necessary information and want the system to issue the warnings continuously as well as positively.
