We hypothesized that moving picture viewing with calling forth energy in someone's mind improves psychological resilience (resilience) and quality of life (QOL) into a chain reaction. Data collected by questionnaire surveys of university students in the information sciences were analyzed by structural equation modeling, and the results appeared to support our hypothesis. In terms of resilience, the beneficial effect of the moving picture viewing was slightly greater than the benefit obtained by reading good books offering mental and spiritual sustenance. The findings suggested that the effect of Internet use on resilience should be considered in studies on information behavior.
