Civic Tech refers to volunteer engineer groups or activities solving societal issues through technology. Unlike governments and businesses, Civic Tech operates with different principles and goals, making it a key player in future societal management. However, sustainability remains a challenge. This study explores the "professionalization" of Civic Tech activities, focusing on stability and sustainability. I review Japanese Civic Tech's history in disaster response. Through this, I aim to enhance Civic Tech’s societal impact and ensure continuous, effective operations, contributing to the future development of Civic Tech initiatives.
