Incident laser wavelength dependence of solar cell conversion efficiency in optical wireless transmission

Abstract

  In order to improve the conversion efficiency in L-SSPS, the laser wavelength dependence incident on the solar cell was investigated. We prepared four single junction solar cells of InGaP, GaAs, InGaAsP, InGaAs with different bandgap energies and semiconductor lasers of different wavelengths corresponding to the respective band gaps and examined the conversion efficiency. As a result, it was found that the highest conversion efficiency is obtained by irradiating a laser higher by about 100 meV than the band gap energy.
