The aim of this study is to extract microscopic information from DMPE monolayer isotherm to understand the phase coexistence region of transition in detail. We developed a thermodynamic formulation for obtaining the cooperative unit (C.U.) size (n) that is the minimum number of molecules showing cooperative behavior in the transition from the isotherm parameters (p, A, k). The n – A curve of DMPE shows an asymmetric shape. For further information about that, isotherm measurements were made at different temperatures and their C.U. sizes were evaluated.
